About me
Born and brought up in India in the ‘70 s, I left home in mid-90 s to study painting & fine arts at College of Art, New Delhi. Soon after emigrated to Scotland. Permanent in-studio practice is at my independent space, Birnam Studio, in Perthshire. The studio welcomes visitors to an art cafe style exhibition gallery for finished artworks and shares my passion for diverse cultures through art, books and tea & coffee.
I draw, everyday. Drawing is my connection with the subject, favouring traditional and non-plastic materials. Drawing with charcoal, pencil, pastel, inks and pigment is the core of my practice.
When not at the easel, I sculpt in clay after returning to long periods of drawing for sculpture.
My art is from learning to observe transition and of learning the art of self awareness; to practice care for our natural environment. Diversity of subject matched to the best suited medium is essential for any inspiration to create.
